John Carpenter- Escape From New York Original Motion Picture Score (1981)

I am a huge fan of the works of director John Carpenter, and of all his films, I'd have to count 1981's Escape From New York as my favorite.

As if you couldn't tell by the custom Lego Snake Plissken I use as my avatar for this bloggity-type thing....

I can remember seeing this flick at the now defunct Sunset Drive-In (the local drive-in movie theater located at a crossroads outside of my hometown of West Union, Ohio) one summer night when it first came out, the first half of a double-bill that included the 1975 post-apocalyptic flick The Ultimate Warrior, which starred Yul Brenner...
Needless to say, my childhood backyard games of "pretend" for the next few years involved Escape's anti-hero Snake Plissken (portrayed by Kurt Russell).....

1. Main Title (3:52)
