The first BLADE film has been cited as being the harbinger of the current wave of popularity in comic book and superhero properties in Hollywood. It certainly turned the tide on Marvel's lengthy string of bad luck concerning adaptations of their characters on the silver screen....It's one of the few film adaptations of a comic book property in which I can honestly say that there were some drastic changes made from the source material, yet no one really complained...
